MyGate Alternatives in India (2026) — How to Choose a Society App

    10 October 2026 · Community Hub Team

Disclosure: we make Community Hub, one of the apps mentioned below. We've tried to keep this fair: details about other products come from their own public websites as of October 2026 (linked), and we say plainly where they are stronger than us. If something is out of date, tell us and we'll fix it.

MyGate is the best-known society app in India. Its own website describes it as India's largest community platform, reporting 27K+ communities, 5M+ homes and 50+ cities, and positions it as a full society ERP — accounting, audit, vendors, security and communication. For many large gated communities it's the default choice.

So why do committees look for alternatives? The reasons we hear most often are:

    • Cost clarity. MyGate doesn't publish society pricing; its FAQ says cost depends on society size, number of homes, modules, integrations and support needs. Smaller committees often want a simpler number.
    • Fit. A full ERP is more than some volunteer-run societies need, and less than others want in particular areas.
    • Specific gaps — a language their staff are comfortable with, a feature like amenity payments, or how resident communication works.

None of these mean MyGate is a bad product. They mean it's worth comparing before you renew or sign.

What to compare before you shortlist

Before looking at brands, agree as a committee on what matters. These are the areas that tend to decide whether an app works for a society:

    1. Gate and visitor management

    • Can residents pre-approve guests, deliveries and cabs easily?
    • What happens with walk-in visitors — how does the resident approve them?
    • What does the guard actually have to do? Count the taps. Guards with a long queue won't follow a complicated flow.
    • Does it need vendor hardware, or does it run on ordinary phones and tablets?

    2. Maintenance collection and accounts

    • Which payment methods are supported (UPI, cards, net banking) and who is the payment gateway?
    • Are invoices and receipts automatic? Are reminders?
    • Can you record cash and cheque payments in the same ledger?
    • Do you need full accounting (ledgers, GST, TDS, audit reports) inside the app, or will your accountant keep the books separately?

    3. Communication

    • Can notices go to one block, or only to everyone?
    • Can you see whether a notice was viewed? Run polls?
    • Is there resident-to-resident chat, or will the WhatsApp group carry on alongside?

    4. Everyday operations

    • Complaints: is there an owner, a deadline (SLA) and escalation?
    • Amenity booking: slots, rules, approvals, paid bookings?
    • Daily help attendance, emergency SOS, documents?

    5. Pricing and commitment

    • Is pricing published, or quote-only? What is it based on — units, modules, hardware?
    • Is there a free trial, and how long is it?
    • Who does the data migration, and is there a charge?

    6. Data and support

    • Can you export your data if you leave?
    • Who can see resident information, and is it shared with anyone else?
    • How do you reach support, and how quickly do they respond?

    The main alternatives

    NoBrokerHood

NoBrokerHood, from the NoBroker group, describes itself as a smart society management app with a visitor management system and society accounting software. Its solutions pages go beyond software into physical add-ons — boom barriers, CCTV, EV charging and solar for housing societies — and it says it is trusted by 25,000+ housing societies and RWAs. Pricing isn't published; the site invites you to book a free demo.

Worth a look if you want software and physical add-ons from one vendor.

    ADDA

ADDA (formerly ApartmentADDA, now at adda.io) has been around for over a decade and is generally seen as accounting-led: billing, defaulter tracking, vendor management and audit-ready reports, with its GateKeeper product for security. ADDA also supports UPI payments for maintenance.

Worth a look if your treasurer or accountant wants to run the society's full books inside the platform.

    ApnaComplex (ANACITY)

ApnaComplex is one of the older names in Indian apartment management and now sits under the ANACITY platform. Unusually, it publishes a pricing page with tiered plans (Free, three Standard variants and Ultimate) billed annually by number of units. It offers a collection gateway it says has zero convenience charge, security hardware priced by city on request, and add-ons such as RFID vehicle tracking and water-tank monitoring.

Worth a look if you want a published plan structure, accounting, or hardware add-ons.

    Community Hub (ours)

Community Hub is newer and much smaller than the names above. It's built by TERRAPIRE Solutions in Hyderabad and puts everyday society operations in one app: maintenance collection through Razorpay (UPI, cards, net banking) with invoices, receipts and reminders; visitor pre-approval and the guard gate flow; emergency SOS to admins and guards; amenity booking with slots and paid bookings; announcements and polls; complaints with SLAs and escalation; helper attendance; a resident directory; documents and expense tracking. It also includes resident chat — direct, block groups, community groups and custom groups — and a private social feed. The app is available in English and Telugu.

Where others are stronger: we don't offer a full accounting ERP (GST/TDS workflows, ledgers), and we don't sell gate hardware. We also don't have the track record of the larger players.

Worth a look if you want collections, the gate, complaints and resident communication in one app, value Telugu support, or want to try for 3 months — with your data migrated for free — before committing.

    Smaller and regional options

There are many smaller apps, and some committees prefer a local vendor. A few that appear frequently:

    • Neighbium — a Hyderabad company with a society management app covering notices, payments, documents, complaints, visitors, surveys and bookings.
    • myKutir — an Ahmedabad-built app for residential societies covering billing, accounting, payments, visitors and complaints.
    • TownManage — according to its App Store listing, it covers visitor tracking, complaints, staff scheduling and documents, but does not include online payments.

Smaller vendors can be more flexible and responsive, but check how long they've been operating, how many societies use them, and whether you can export your data.

    How to run the evaluation

    1. Agree the must-haves from the checklist above, as a committee.
    2. Shortlist two or three apps. More than that and the comparison becomes noise.
    3. Ask for written pricing for your number of units, including any payment-gateway charges, hardware and renewal terms. Ask what it will cost over three years, not just the first.
    4. Test at your own gate. A 30-minute trial with your actual guards tells you more than any demo.
    5. Check resident experience. Ask two or three residents — including a senior citizen — to try paying a bill and approving a visitor.
    6. Ask about data. Who migrates it, how long it takes, and how you'd get it out again.

    Switching without chaos

If you decide to move, a few steps make it smoother:

    • Get your data out first. Export flats, owners, tenants, outstanding dues and helper lists from the current system or spreadsheets.
    • Run in parallel. Keep the old system (or paper register) going for a few weeks while residents and guards get used to the new app.
    • Onboard block by block. A volunteer per block who helps neighbours install and log in makes a big difference.
    • Brief the guards properly. The gate is where a switch succeeds or fails.
    • Set a cut-over date and announce it well in advance.

    Bottom line

There's no single best society app — there's the one that fits your society's size, budget and priorities. If you need a full ERP or vendor hardware, the larger platforms are built for that. If your committee mainly needs collections, the gate, complaints and communication handled well in one app, a smaller option may suit you better. Either way, compare on your own checklist, get pricing in writing, and test at your own gate.
